Before and After Care Teacher - Split Shift

Duties

• Supervise children during before and after school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
• Implement engaging activities that support social skills, creativity, and physical development
• Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement and effective behavior management techniques
• Collaborate with other staff members to plan age-appropriate lessons and recreational activities
• Maintain a clean, organized environment that adheres to safety protocols and health standards
• Administer basic first aid or CPR if necessary, following established first aid protocols
• Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and any concerns

Experience

• Prior experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or youth program settings is highly preferred
• Demonstrated classroom management skills and ability to supervise children effectively
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management strategies
• Certification in first aid, CPR, AED operation, or willingness to obtain these certifications upon hire
• Experience facilitating youth group activities or sports coaching is a plus
• Background in special education or working with children with diverse needs is advantageous
• Outdoor work experience or involvement in outdoor recreational activities enhances suitability for this role
