Assistant Teacher- (Preschool/Pre-K/ K)

EverBright Montessori Academy is seeking a caring, dependable Montessori Assistant Teacher to support our Lead Teacher in a classroom serving children ages 4–6. The ideal candidate enjoys working with young children and helps create a calm, respectful environment that encourages independence and a love of learning.

Montessori Assistant Teacher Responsibilities

• Assist the Montessori Lead Teacher with daily classroom activities and routines.
• Support children’s independence, concentration, and social-emotional development.
• Provide patient, positive guidance and help maintain a calm, respectful classroom.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming Montessori environment.
• Communicate with parents in a friendly and professional manner, coordinating with the Lead Teacher on children’s progress and daily needs.
• Observe children and share relevant observations with the Lead Teacher.
• Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, and transitions.
• Work collaboratively with the Lead Teacher and other staff members.
• Learn to use Procare for daily classroom records, attendance, and communication with families.
• Assist with basic administrative tasks, including data entry, document preparation, and organizing classroom records.

Montessori Assistant Teacher Qualifications

• Experience working with young children; at least two years of experience preferred.
• Strong classroom management skills preferred.
• Completed Early Childhood Education (ECE) units preferred.
• Montessori classroom experience or familiarity with Montessori principles is a plus.
• Friendly, patient, caring, and dependable.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with families.
• A collaborative attitude and willingness to learn from and support the Lead Teacher.
• Must meet applicable state requirements for the position, including required background checks.
• Willingness and ability to learn Procare; previous experience with Procare is a plus.
