Duties

• Support lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate curriculum and activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development.
• Supervise children during playtime, meals, naps, and outdoor activities to ensure their safety and well-being.
• Assist with classroom management by maintaining a clean, organized environment conducive to learning and exploration.
• Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress, behavior, and any concerns, fostering positive relationships built on trust.
• Follow all health and safety protocols, including pediatric first aid and CPR procedures, to respond swiftly in emergencies.
• Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing individualized care as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of daily activities, attendance, and developmental milestones to support ongoing assessment and planning.

Skills

• Experience working with young children in daycare, preschool, or childcare settings, demonstrating strong classroom management skills.
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices.
• Certification in first aid and CPR (pediatric first aid preferred) to ensure quick response during emergencies.
• Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child abuse or neglect to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
• Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members while demonstrating patience and empathy.
• Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is highly desirable.
• Strong behavior management skills to guide positive behavior and foster a respectful classroom environment.
