Assistant Teacher

Responsibilities:

• Assist the lead teacher in daily classroom activities
• Supervise and engage with preschool-aged children
• Foster a safe and inclusive environment that encourages social and emotional development
• Form and maintain professional relationships with staff, students and families

Desired Skills:

• Knowledge of developmental milestones and appropriate practices for different age groups
• Familiarity with early childhood education theories, methodologies, and best practices
• Experience working with toddlers, including providing age-appropriate care, activities, and guidance
• Ability to create a structured and positive classroom environment that promotes learning and cooperation
• Incorporation of physical activities into daily routines to promote gross motor skills development
• Understanding of licensing requirements, health and safety regulations, and daily operations in a daycare setting

Requirements:

• 12 semester units of college-level coursework in early childhood education
• Experience working in early childhood education or a related field
• Basic first aid including CPR certification
• Physically able to lift 50 pounds, bend down, lift overhead, transfer on and off floor

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 27.0 per week
