Assistant Teacher

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher Assistant to support classroom teachers and contribute to a positive learning environment for young children. This role involves working closely with students, assisting with daily activities, and fostering a safe and engaging educational setting. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and experience working with children of various ages, including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. A background in childhood development, childcare, or special education is highly desirable.

Duties

• Assist lead teachers in implementing lesson plans and educational activities tailored to different age groups
• Support children during classroom activities, playtime, and mealtime to promote social and emotional development
• Help supervise children to ensure safety and proper behavior management throughout the day
• Provide basic first aid when necessary and follow health and safety protocols
• Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment conducive to learning and play
• Assist with diapering, feeding, and other childcare responsibilities for preschool age children
• Engage in caregiving tasks such as nurturing, comforting, and encouraging positive interactions among children
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to monitor progress and address individual student needs

Skills

• Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or early childhood education settings
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and age-appropriate activities
• Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively and implement behavior management strategies
• First aid certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hire
• Strong communication skills for working with children, parents, and staff
• Compassionate caregiver with patience and adaptability
• Experience with special education or working with children with disabilities is a plus
• Familiarity with classroom management techniques and childcare best practices
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while maintaining a nurturing attitude toward children
