Responsibilities

• Assist lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate curricula focused on early childhood development, literacy, math, and social skills.
• Support classroom management by supervising children during activities, transitions, and outdoor play to ensure safety and positive behavior.
• Engage children in educational activities that promote curiosity, creativity, and foundational skills in line with the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) standards.
• Help maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that complies with educational regulations and safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about children's progress, behaviors, and needs to foster strong home-school connections.
• Use educational technologies and computers to enhance learning experiences for young children.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to develop individualized support plans for children with disabilities or special needs, including those with autism.

Requirements

• Prior experience working with young children in classroom settings or childcare environments is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management strategies, and classroom behavior management techniques.
• Familiarity with special education practices, literacy education, math instruction, and early childhood curriculum standards.
• Ability to supervise children effectively while maintaining a safe and nurturing environment; first aid and CPR certification are required or obtainable upon hire.
• Strong communication skills to engage with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners professionally.
• Understanding of educational compliance regulations such as the ESSA and familiarity with classroom experience documentation.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or autism is a plus; private school experience is also valued.
• Proficiency in using computers and educational technologies to support teaching activities.
