Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and energetic Infant/ Toddler Child Care Assistant Teacher to join our team! You will encourage children’s intellectual, psychological, and physical growth. Child Safety and Supervision

• Maintain active supervision of all children at all times.
• Keep the classroom clean, safe, organized, and hazard-free.
• Follow all Michigan childcare licensing rules, center policies, and health and safety procedures.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and complete required documentation.
• Follow safe sleep practices and established infant sleep procedures.

Daily Care and Routines

• Provide attentive, responsive care based on each child's individual needs and developmental stage.
• Feed infants and toddlers according to family instructions and classroom procedures.
• Change diapers regularly and assist with toileting and beginning potty-training routines as appropriate.
• Maintain proper handwashing, diapering, sanitizing, and other hygiene practices.
• Support children's transitions throughout the day, including meals, naps, indoor and outdoor play, and classroom activities.
• Communicate any changes in a child's health, eating, sleeping, or behavior to the appropriate staff and families.

Responsibilities

• Help maintain an organized, welcoming, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
• Clean, sanitize, and maintain toys, equipment, tables, and classroom materials according to center procedures.
• Complete daily classroom checklists, help implement lesson plans, conduct child observations, and complete other required records.
• Assist with classroom-assigned duties.
• Work cooperatively with classroom teammates to maintain appropriate staff-to-child ratios and consistent routines.

Qualifications and Skills

• A genuine love for working with infants and toddlers (ages 6 weeks to 30 months).
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
• Patience, dependability, and the ability to respond calmly to children's needs.
• Willingness to learn and follow Michigan childcare licensing requirements.
• Ability to meet applicable employment, training, and physical requirements of the position.
• Required education, experience, certifications, and background clearances as applicable to the position and Michigan licensing rules.
