Assistant Director – Early Childhood Childcare

Small World Learning Center is hiring a full-time Assistant Director for our childcare center in Spring Park, MN. This role is a growth opportunity for a strong Lead Teacher or experienced early childhood professional who is ready to step into leadership and expand their career in childcare management. Prior Assistant Director experience is not required — training and support will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Director with daily childcare center operations
• Assist with staff supervision, coaching, and training
• Help manage staffing, scheduling, and ratio management
• Maintain childcare licensing compliance and DHS documentation
• Support curriculum implementation and classroom quality
• Communicate professionally with parents and staff
• Step in as acting leader when the Director is out of the building

Qualifications

• Previous Assistant Director or daycare management experience is not required — this role is designed as a leadership growth opportunity
• Must meet Lead Teacher qualifications
• Strong organizational, communication, and emerging leadership skills
• Experience supporting staff, assisting with schedules, or helping with enrollment is a plus, but not required
